Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha 8 or better) is frequently viewed as one of the most complicated but popular poker games. Omaha hi-low begins exactly like a normal game of Omaha. Four cards are given out to each player. A sequence of wagering follows in which players can bet, check, or drop out. 3 cards are dealt out, this is referred to as the flop. A further round of betting ensues. Once all the gamblers have in turn called or folded, an additional card is revealed on the turn. a further round of betting ensues at which point the river card is revealed. The gamblers will need to put together the best high and low five card hands based on the board and hole cards.

This is the point where a few entrants often get flustered. Contrasted to Holdem, where the board can be every player’s hand, in Omaha hi/lo the player must use precisely 3 cards from the board, and precisely 2 cards from their hand. Not a single card more, not a single card less. Unlike normal Omaha, there are 2 ways a pot can be won: the "high hand" or the "low hand."

A high hand is exactly what it sounds like. It’s the strongest hand out of every player’s, it doesn’t matter if it is a straight, flush, full house, etc. It’s the identical concept in just about every poker game.

A low hand is more complex, but certainly free’s up the action. When figuring out a low hand, straights and flushes don’t count. the lowest hand is the worst hand that might be made, with the worst being made up of A-2-3-4-5. Considering that straights and flushes do not count, A-2-3-4-5 is the smallest value hand possible. The lower hand is any five card hand (unpaired) with an 8 and smaller. The lower hand wins half of the pot, as does the high hand. When there’s no low hand presented, the higher hand takes the entire pot.

Although it seems complicated initially, after a few rounds you will be agile enough to get the fundamental nuances of the game simply enough. Seeing as you have individuals betting for the low and betting for the high, and seeing as such a large number of cards are in play, Omaha hi lo provides an exciting array of wagering choices and owing to the fact that you have many individuals shooting for the high hand, as well as a few battling for the low.
